Rich, love that Southern rock almost as much as you do. Love those blazin' guitars!

Me too man... I was just starting to get into playing in rock-n-roll bands during the Southern Rock era, and was always the rhythm guitar player and singer because nobody had the balls to step up to the mic !

I have a secret love for this music video, very well made.

Rich, try this one on for size.... the whole song is kind of a long, loose jam - but Al Shnier starts cutting loose on that Les Paul about the 7:30 mark, and builds to a to BLAZE for awhile before reigning it in.

OK... I'll check it out in the morning while I'm having coffee.

I passed out while doing the post production work for the show we recorded Sunday morning, woke up at 2:00 am and wanted to finish things up before legitimately heading to bed.

I dug the tune above... it reminds me of a Grateful Dead jam, but I actually enjoyed it more than the Dead.

I love the sound of a Les Paul... I have a vanilla Les Paul custom myself, it was the first guitar I ever bought.

I stopped playing it because it was too heavy to wear and play for hours at a time.

I started playing a Höfner stick guitar that I bought from a buddy who came back to the States after serving in the military in Germany... that's the guitar I was playing in On The Edge.

moe. is the name of that group yeah, even the period is part of the group's name. They are like the Dead in a lot of ways - in most of their shows, they set up an area close to the stage where anyone can record, if they want. They encourage recording, and sharing those recordings. (sound familiar?)

If you want to try another tune by them, with a similar feel, google "Recreational Chemistry," sometime.
